Since the 1940's, acoustic technology has grown leaps and bounds. In this regard, PST's platform genesis was based upon the need to detect chemical weapons in live mortar shells using non-intrusive, non-disruptive methods.
Borne of one need were the applications in the petrochemical industry. Beginning with identifying liquids in barrels of oil and gas is now the real-time monitoring of large storage tanks and the verification, validation and flow-rate monitoring of millions of miles of interstate pipeline. Soon it will become a matter of redefining parameters to conduct the same methods of data collection / extraction from the exterior of similar metal containers to effectively reduce waste, improve economical and ecological returns through logistics.
